Sent the DXF files to a local laser cutter to get a 5mm front plate made. The precision of the CAD files is outstanding, all the button holes and rotary encoder slots fit like a glove. It’s a premium button plate for a fraction of the retail price.
I printed the STL files on my Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus. Everything works perfectly.
rinted the enclosure in ABS and mounted it behind a replica Porsche suede steering wheel. The 70mm bolt pattern is perfectly accurate and lined up with my Fanatec podium hub with no issues. The sticker sheet is a nice touch, looks exactly like the real GT3 Cup car plate.
The button plate looks and performs amazing in ACC. My only warning to other builders is that the inside of the 3D-printed enclosure is quite compact to keep the plate slim. Cable management took me some patience, but once closed, it’s rock solid.
Cheers William! You are spot on, I intentionally kept the enclosure as slim as possible so it doesn’t push the steering wheel too close to the driver. It makes wiring a bit tight, but the ergonomic payoff on the rig is worth it!
The CAD files are top quality. However, I tried mounting this plate behind a cheap generic dish rim I bought on eBay, and the spokes of the wheel slightly blocked two of the top buttons. I had to use the STEP files to modify the enclosure slightly. Make sure your rim spokes are flat before building.
Hola Carlos, thank you for this very important feedback. Deep-dish rims or rims with aggressive spoke angles can sometimes interfere with button plates. This is exactly why we include the STEP source files, so builders like you can tweak the depth if needed. Glad you were able to customize it to fit your setup!
Solid GT3-style and cheap button plate. The CAD files are well designed and the different fabrication options are a real plus. Very happy with the result.
